인생 최고의 영화
영화를 보면서 남은 시간이 아쉬웠던 적은 처음이다. 보는 내내 사람을 행복하게 해줬다. 행복할 수 있는 시간이 1시간, 40분,10분으로 줄어들 때마다 더 영화를 길게 보고 싶은 마음이 커졌다. 영화 자체의 소재는 전쟁이지만, 숨겨진 진짜 주제는 낭만, 사랑, 친구였다. 이런 것들을 표현하는 데에는 허접한 CG따위는 전혀 문제가 되지 않았다. 가끔 사람들은 '아바타'와 같은 작품을 보면서 영상미가 어쩌니 저쩌니 하는데, 다 의미 없다. 시골 풍경 속 배우들의 순박한 미소, 터지는 옥수수만으로도 다른 작품들 이상의 영상미를 보여준 영화라고 생각한다.

Synopsis
Based on the long running play by Jang Jin, the story is set in Korea during the Korean War in 1950. Soldiers from both the North and South, as well as an American pilot, find themselves in a secluded and naively idealistic village, its residents unaware of the outside world, including the war.
